Funky name. I saw him on the Sex in Art blog (Total Nudity, man! Not kid friendly). I’m gonna be checking out his animations and music videos! Not sure if I’ll be working on an animation this season or not… I have my Shrine to work on.

I have another illustrator to show you that I’ll link here. More “traditional” (or perhaps more “golden age”), he’s worked on some impressive movies. TBC…

Fear Drawings

Awhile back I was working on two “animations.” One was the Deep Blue video and the other was my first vague attempt at something like stop motion animation. Except, it wasn’t. But almost kind of.

The project was to add daily to a drawing, based on a daily sense of “fear” (life is scary, bro), working towards a completed drawing. I photographed them as I drew and compiled it into little films.

They’re hardly museum quality, but I learned a lot from doing these. The drawings in real life came out interesting.

Etsy: Upcoming shirt designs

This year I want to reinvigorate (how reinvigorating) my Etsy selling status by focusing on two things: Prints on Tshirts and Art prints. I may throw in a totebag or two. I’m going to sell what I myself would wear. (*I don’t wear totebags.)

Prints, as always, will be super affordable. The clothes will be in a higher price range ($35-45) because it’ll feature my original paintings and drawings, and art made exclusively for those shirts.

Here’s the design that’ll be in-shop in a week or two:

Spontaneous Portraits in Marker

Because the first one I did at 4am on a whim of NECESSITY. And tea.

I’m using the same markers my 5 – 10 year old students use in class; they may not be Prisma colors but they are fantastic. I’m also lucky to have this Made-in-Italy sketchbook with lovely cream colored paper that absorbs the ink really well. Translation: sexy.

drawing my own Bday present- for life!

The best gift is the one that keeps on giving, right? I started doing this drawing with the idea of making the best party EVER- until I ran out of semi-fictional guests. These three have been on my mind the most this year, they’ve inspired me. I wasn’t able to think of anyone else (except my professors, but I couldn’t find any appropriately awkward photos of them online to use ;~ ) ) who had a deep influence on my thought processes. Many people and things inspired me sporadically throughout the year, but it felt strange to draw them in.

So I think I will leave the drawing here- and hope for new Idols next birthday.

This year: Lady Gaga, Jo Calderone, Adam Goldberg, and Paul Rosano (channeling Sylvia Sleigh).

me having a heck of a time trying to figure out Goldie's pose, until I got someone to pose for me. I think I eradicated his buttocks, though...
